Weekend Bliss in the Sun

Image
Oh Spring, how I love thee. Thank you for coming back! What a glorious weekend! There's something about a late-setting sun, open windows, a beer, and ceiling fans that make me feel like I'm right where I want to be. ~sigh of contentment~ We've been taking Stella to the magical dog park every Saturday. Such a beautiful day. Stella and some cows.  We took our eyes off of her for a second and she found a big pit of mud. Boy was she happy about it. Frisbee golf at the CMC Spring Valley Campus I will not be pursuing Frisbee golf modeling.  Activities not shown: riding bikes along the river, swimming at the hot springs, and stalking  walking by our hopeful new home every chance we could. I predict that there will be many more posts now that hibernation looks to be over; and, they will probably be more pictures than words so you can take a breather from my long-winded stories! Yay!

House Hunters: Glenwood Springs

Image
I don't think I've mentioned it but we started our house-hunting search in early March. I think in total we have looked at 14 homes & one thing I realized is that house hunting in a smaller community can be a very emotionally draining task; while at the same time, it's a task I feel very blessed to even have on my to-do list. After we looked at the first few homes I realized it would be good to sit down and write out a list of our "Needs" and then a list of our "Wants". We promised ourselves that if something wasn't on the "Needs" list, it was a deal-breaker, no matter how cute the house was (I'm a sucker for cuteness- maybe this rule was mostly for me to follow). I think the list helped me retain some rational sense even though it was heart-wrenching at times. P.S. There are some seriously adorable, and very tiny , houses out there. We told our Realtor that we were open to look at just about anything and that we weren't afr

MadMenYourself.com: This is my creation of myself as a Mad Men character and yes, I am smoking two cigarettes. Have you watched the show?  It's not too far off; those people like their smokes. I made a Mad Men Brian, too. We explored part of the Scout Trail on the east side of Glenwood Springs. It's a great trail to see awesome views of the city. Plus, things are starting to get green so the color contrasts are fun to see. I added an arrow pointing to where our loft is located but I just realized it's kind of small and I totally just resisted the urge to add an arrow pointing to the arrow. Just follow the bridge to the left if you're curious where we're living. Sage brush beauty to the west. We were pretty far away from civilization when we stumbled across this old truck. We really don't see how it's possible that it ended up here. I watch enough "Bones" to know that is a great place to stash a body. Plus, sleeping bag = cr

Conversation Brian & I just had at the Library

Brian and I went to the library to look at movies and CD's and while perusing the CD's we found Justin Bieber's Believe album. Two things you need to know before I document the conversation: I forgot my library card. We were in a library so the whole conversation was performed in a whisper, which is what makes it so funny to me. The conversation, in whispers: Jaime: Yessss! This is the new one! Brian: No. Jaime: Pleeeeeeeease Brian: No. I am not checking that out with my library card. Jaime: Oh come on. Please? Brian (in a stern whisper): NO. Jaime: Please? ...[light bulb!] ...If you don't check this out for me I'm going to go right home and buy it. Brian:...  ...  ...  FINE. But you are walking up to the counter with me. As soon as the lady scanned it and put it on the counter, Brian grabbed it and handed it to me. Whew. I think he was able to salvage his reputation.
