February 27, 2011: I keep hearing about a lady who adopted a dog and then returned it because it didn't match her curtains. Aside from that being utterly ridiculous, I am blessed with cats that go quite nicely in our house. I know this picture is black and white but trust me when I say that Skookum is very much complimenting our decor. I think we'll keep her.

February 25, 2011: Cold day today. Lots of frost on the trees which is always a beautiful thing to me. Here is also a picture of my commute to work. I just loved how it was lined with frost bitten trees. p.s. I suppose I made up for yesterday with 2 pictures today, eh?

February 24, 2011: I'm admitting defeat for today. It was another nutso day at work, I'm really tired and can't even begin to think of a picture to take for today. I really just wish I could capture Brian's grumbles as he tries to beat a level of SuperMario on my DS in a picture. It's highly entertaining.

February 23, 2011: Brian and I were true Americans. We got some money and we spent it all. We got our annual costco amex refund so we went on a shopping spree at costco. I got this nice supportive pillow to carry me into my 30's. Skookum, Chuck, and Woodrow wanted to be part of the shot today and I didn't have the energy to make them move. Did I mention today was crazy? I guess I didn't...but it was and I'm pooped.

February 21, 2011: The painting on our door. The little Scottish men are in the shape of a pentagram to reflect all that they found in our room. They had the room blessed and then had a troop of bagpipers parade around playing 'Amazing Grace'.

February 18, 2011: There were instructions in the Sky magazine to make a whale with your dollar. That involved a lot of me cursing and then giving up. This was the closest I could get it and all I have to say is that the people who come up with this stuff are crazy. Crazy smart? Maybe. But crazy nonetheless.

February 16, 2011: I call this one "Life is not fair". I have been summonsed twice since living in Westminster so when I saw this in the mailbox my heart sunk...until I saw BRIAN'S name on it! Yay! When he came home I was all giddy when I showed it to him and said, "It's about time!" Turns out his court date is March 28th and we'll be in Vegas for my 30th birthday. How does he always get off so easy?! Life is not fair in this house. Humph.

February 15, 2011: In the days of yore, my besties and I declared February 15th "Friend Day" so we could look forward to a back-up to Valentine's Day. Really, it came about when we were hanging out in my parent's basement on February 15th watching "Terminator 2" and I handed out some Christmas presents I had forgotten to give to some other acquaintances. Presents = a holiday and thus, "Friend Day" was born. The three of us don't often see each other any more (because Elissa had to go and move to Boston- ahem) so I don't have any recent pictures of the 3 of us together. Nevertheless, Happy Friend Day, Amy & Elissa!

February 12, 2011: Devotchka live. Attended with good friends Amy and Constantin and had a lot of fun despite there being 2 opening bands and Devotchka not starting until about 10:30pm. That's late for me, folks. Needless to say, my eyelids are heavy and I'm ready for bed .

Once upon a time (ahem, tonight), my phone rang with a mysterious number on the screen. Knowing that it would drive me crazy wondering who it was if I didn't answer, I answered it. Congratulations! You've won a 2-night stay in Breckenridge for $99, you pick the date. I was kind of excited, I remember entering the drawing a while back. I told him some of my info so he could send me more information and we chatted about the snow and how much Breckenridge got this last week. We were getting along really well and then he said, "What type of credit card will you be using?" I got quiet, began to panic, and stammered, "Oh, hold on. Let me look." February 8, 2011: It was back to being pretty frigid outside today. When that happens, Skookum can usually be found sitting on the heating vent. Heat is her boyfriend. Every time Brian poked her while she was under there she squealed like the Pillsbury Doughboy (and then she'd bitch-slap him).

February 7, 2011: I've noticed Chuck has really been interested in Q-Tips lately. It started with her playing with one left on the counter, then she started digging them out of the trash. This morning I received this picture in my email box from Brian. Looks like she found the mother-load. It also looks like I can't keep my Q-Tips on the counter for a while, until she finds something else to feed her cute little neurotic brain.

February 6, 2011: This is our office trash can and Chuck likes it best like this. I used to think she was looking for something but then I caught her walking up to it, dumping it out and just walking away, with no interest in what came out. For a few months I had it tied to the desk so she couldn't knock it over but it became too tedious for us to empty it, so now we just deal with it.

February 5, 2011: This won't go down in history as the best night photo ever taken but it will at least give you an inkling of the panoramic view we had tonight at the Peaks Lounge (I was trying to be discrete in my photo efforts). We went to celebrate a birthday with some friends and the view was amazing. It's on the 27th floor of the Hyatt downtown and you have an amazing view of the city (and, I've been told the mountains, too, when the sun is up). It was definitely a fun outing for us! We are thankful for the invitation!

February 3, 2011: Brian commented that the cats are often in the pictures I post for this project. I guess you all are getting a real, honest glimpse of my life and a lot of my life includes my cats. I'm too far in to change it now & I don't really want to. Chuck loves to chase lasers so I made a quick little action sequence for you but it's really much more fun to watch in person. P.S. Today is my Nana's 91st birthday! Happy Birthday Nana!
