A little side note...

Lately I've been trying to follow the guidelines for the "Eat Right 4 Your Blood-type" diet. I'm type A+ which is a great grade to receive but a really challenging diet to follow. In a nutshell, the way I perceive it is that it's vegan, gluten-free, with limited veggies and fruit. Humph. There are actually a lot of things that are still available they just aren't the typical things I've been eating for the past 30 years so it makes my brain cramp to think outside the box so much. But, tonight I made lentil patties & both Brian and I went back for more. First I had to learn to cook lentils and the rest was easy. I thought I'd share the recipe in case anyone else is interested. First thing's first- How to Cook Lentils A couple things to know: 1 cup of dry lentils = 2 cups cooked lentils Always use a 2:1 ratio. 2 parts H2O : 1 part lentils 1. Put your desired amount of dry lentils in a pan & cover with the corresponding amount o

On this week's episode of my life... I was out walking the dog on my lunch break and when I came back to the front door this monster made me jump. He was seriously the size of my finger and not something I'm used to seeing here in CO. I think it's a caterpillar...Is it? I dunno, I just hope he eats spiders because there have been too many daddylonglegs on my door frame lately. On Friday night we took my parents to see The Beatles Tribute Band at Red Rocks as a late anniversary gift. This is a crappy picture but proves I was there. I really enjoyed it! I was only disappointed that they only paid tribute to their early stuff and didn't venture into the 70's. I would recommend it, I think they said they come every year to commemorate when The Beatles played at Red Rocks in 1964. One of my favorite moments was when they told the crowd to purchase their CD and my mom leaned over to me and whispered, "People know they can still purchase actual Beatles

Has it really been since August 8th that I've posted?? Whoa. Let us begin the recap... The majority of arguments that occur between Brian and I are in regards to cleaning. If one of us is in the mood to clean and the other isn't, resentment and passive-aggressive sighs and banging ensue. We had a list of chores when we had our house on the market and that seemed to solve everything. I have my list, he has his and as long as we get our respective things done at some point during the week, life is good. So, Brian made a new chore list: As I was downloading the next picture I realized the theme for this month is our house and various projects within. Brian decided to rearrange the guest room a little bit and my need for a more organized crafting setup became glaringly obvious. I had things stuffed EVERYWHERE. I'm hoping IKEA can eventually help me out with that... In other news, was glancing through a People Magazine and found it amusing to see that Usher's ki

Pretty normal week this week but I spent Saturday at Brian's make-up softball games (from all the rained out weeks). It was hot but luckily I found some some shade even though I was pretty far away from the action...And a lot of action there was. They were awesome and smoked both teams! Afterwards we treated ourselves to some red velvet fro-yo with yogurt chips. My all-star Transreformer. :) Stella had a spa day. She was brushed, trimmed, and bathed. She loved every second of it... Then I felt crafty again so I made a coffee cozy and the ugliest owl known to mankind. I guess my whimsical projects can't all turn out the way I hope for them to. Well, there's nothing else to report so I'm out until next week. P.S. I've resorted to weekly picture recaps instead of daily photos.

The best part of last week was the surprise get-away Brian planned as an "Anniversary Trip" of sorts. He rented a tiny little A-Frame cabin in the mountains above Evergreen, CO and it was perfect. He said he picked it because I tend to complain that whenever we travel we wear ourselves out and I would love to just rest for a change on a vacation. He picked Evergreen because it's within an hour from our house so we wouldn't have to spend a lot of time traveling and he picked a cabin in the woods so we could just relax and be quiet with the option of doing things if we felt like it. We spent the first day just enjoying our quaint little cabin, we slept in the next day and then went on a hike to see the Lower Maxwell Falls and on Sunday we drove to the top of Mt. Evans. Here it is in pictures: I may or may not have decided to read this as a joke and then ended up reading 1/4th of it... Not the biggest falls we've ever seen but still a nice hike I love my family. I es
