moving to summit county

so, brian got the call that he got the job at keystone resorts in the accounts receivable department. our next step was to find a place to live a.s.a.p. so we got online and looked at the ads in the summit daily news and then headed up the next day determined not to leave until we'd found something. there really aren't places to live in keystone because it's pretty much all just condo's for all the tourists. so, our first two places were in dillon valley. we walked in the first one and felt like we were on an episode of 'that 70's show'. it came furnished and it hadn't been re-decorated since the apartments had first been built. orange, shag carpet, brown pleather swivel seats, orange curtains, and a fireplace that had been painted mustard yellow. we said we'd keep it in mind...right. our next stop was up the street a little ways and it didn't look hopeful from the outside but we kept an open mind. we walked in only to have our nostrils bombarded with the smell of smoke. we were pretty much the only white people in the neighborhood and our hope started to dwindle as the landlady led us to view the apartment. it was by far the worst apartment i've ever looked at. the stained carpet didn't lay flat, there were holes in the walls, the bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned in 20 years...you get the idea. we left and i was ready to cry. we decided to expand our search to breckenridge to restore our hope. the places we saw in breck were MUCH nicer than what we'd seen but breckenridge isn't exactly close to keystone so we wanted to keep looking. we looked at some places in silverthorne and found an ad that was brand new that day so we called that number and set up a time to meet her. we pulled up to the condo and i was really impressed with the outside but i prepared myself for the worst. we walked in and were immediately ready to kiss her feet and chain ourselves to the wall. it was perfect and completely in our price range! so, that's our story and we're so thankful it had a happy ending.
