June 17-23, 2011

Confession: I have not taken any pictures. My life seems to be work, gym, bed this week. Maybe I'll describe something instead. I wish I would have taken a picture of Stella a few days ago. Brian had given her a bath right before we went to bed (which we have now learned to not make a common practice) so she went to sleep with wet fur. I got up the next morning to take her on a walk and I almost died laughing when she came around the other side of the bed. Half of her fur was flat against her body and the other part was a mixture of flat fur with random spikey pods sticking up in between. Then I laughed the entire duration of our walk because she looked like a hot-mess. I was slightly embarrassed to even be holding the other end of the leash. We brushed it out but then Brian got ambitious and took a scissors to her behind; which would've worked out fine if Stella hadn't had enough mid-way through, leaving half of her butt trimmed, and the other half not. ~sigh~ It only to...

June 15, 2011: This is the state of my sleeping arrangements these days. Chuck has decided my pillow is hers. I wake up every morning on 1% of the pillow. Thank you Brian, for documenting this. It's no secret now that I'm whipped by my cat.

June 14, 2011: Took the dogs on a long walk with Brian. I told him I was taking him to a 'make-out' swing to motivate him to come with me. We never did get around to making out...

June 13, 2011: Today we cleaned and hung up my new pictures in the dining room. Here is the new set up/color scheme. I finally think I'm starting to like it. We still need to put the baseboards & crown-molding back on but otherwise, it's done! Now I have to fix the kitchen...

June 11, 2011: Brian's home!!!! I requested he bring me a Kinder Egg as a souvenir and he didn't disappoint. I got a beaver and I can't figure out if he does anything. It kind of looks like he knows Algebra. If you can translate this, please fill me in!

June 10, 2011: This has felt like one of the longest weeks of my life. I feel like a month has gone by since last Friday. All I have to say is I'm so glad I finally found Friday. P.S. Garfield is right up there on my list with MacGyver of things I love. I mean, when I was little, he got me to try (and end up loving) lasagna. My mom is forever grateful.

June 9, 2011: I'm not planning on talking much about the weight loss competition I'm involved in at work because I don't want it to be a big deal or a temporary thing...BUT, I would like to say that I had a surprisingly better weigh-in today than I anticipated, and that feels pretty swell.

June 8, 2011: Blast from the past. This is Brian and I when we were dating, circa 2004. I miss all of his glorious hair. I chose this picture today because I really miss him and this makes me happy. Maybe it's because he's in Germany so he's finishing his day when I'm just beginning mine that makes the distance seem more pronounced.

June 7, 2011: Brian is in Germany for business and he took the camera so I haven't been able to take pictures but I decided I can still portray my life by borrowing other people's pictures. I've been exhausted and lonely this week so tonight I was browsing through my netflix instant options and saw the first season of MacGyver. I decided that was sufficiently comforting so I picked it to watch. Despite the fact that the pilot episode aired in 1985, I still love that show. My favorite part of the pilot episode is that he's wearing the blue & green plaid shirt (as shown above) as he goes into an underground secret lab to save some people who were trapped in an explosion. He ends up ripping his plaid shirt to cover his face and his episodal love interest's face (that he just met moments before) in order to combat the poisonous gas they were about to run through. Then, at the end of the episode, he's playing basketball with his 'big brother' kid and he...

June 6, 2011: I took a scissors to one of my old collared shirt-dresses. I'll probably actually wear it now ~ Mission Accomplished. On a side note, how on earth did Justin Bieber win for "Best Jaw-Dropping Moment" in his movie? I must be getting old because I just don't understand.

June 1, 2011: Went hiking with the fam for Memorial Day at Castlewood Canyon State Park. Holy crowds batman. I guess I had forgotten that Memorial Day is one of two days a year that everyone decides to go outside. But, everything was so lush and green and I always love reuniting with 'my' mountain, Mr. Pikes Peak.
